7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International reserve the right to determine, at their discretion, whether a submitted image will be accepted. All images submitted must have the consent of the owner including those images downloaded from the internet. 7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International will not accept images that contain any of the following:

  • Competitive marks or names
  • Political or religious imagery which is offensive to cultural values
  • Illegal groups
  • Socially unacceptable groups
  • Provocative or sexual material
  • Branded products (except those associated with approved Affinity/Co-Brand programs)
  • Copyrighted or trademarked material not owned by partner
  • Celebrities/musicians/public figures/athletes/cartoons, etc. (except for those associated with approved Affinity/Co-Brand programs)
  • Phone numbers (e.g. 800 or 900 numbers) and URL addresses (e.g. www.xyz.com)
  • Violence, profanity or obscenities
  • Any references to Visa sponsorship properties (e.g. Olympics — except for those associated with approved programs)
  • Any photo that might result in non-acceptance or other problems at the point of sale
  • Any printing or process that interferes with the required security features of the card
  • Reproduction of currency, where applicable
  • Any image that may potentially bring the Visa brand into disrepute

(Note: This list is not exclusive. 7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International retain the right to decide that any submitted image is not to be used.)

Images that do NOT meet the above guidelines will be rejected and you will be notified by email. You may then submit another image.

Upload Guidelines

  • Image files can be in either .JPEG, .GIF, .PNG, .TIFF or .BMP formats.
  • The maximum file size is 10 MB (megabytes).
  • Images must be at least 840 x 840 pixels.
  • Small images will reproduce poorly when printed.
  • As you increase the scale of your image too much, it may also print poorly.
  • The bigger the image you choose, the longer it will take to upload.
  • Images may reproduce slightly darker than the original photo.
  • The time your image takes to upload depends on your own internet connection speed.
  • Should your image be slow to upload, please talk to your own internet access provider for help.
  • On a typical 56k modem, each 1 MB will take about 3 minutes to upload. (This is approximate and depends on your connection speed, which may vary.)

7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International are not responsible for poor-quality images or images poorly positioned on the personalized card template.

Who's eligible for Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card?

Anyone who has a 7 17 Checking account with a Visa® Debit Card. If you are not already a 7 17 member, click here to find out if you are eligible to join. If you are a member, but you do not already have a 7 17 checking account, you can open your account at any branch or open your account online.

How does my photo get approved?

Every submitted image is reviewed for compliance with the image guidelines (see image guidelines above). Each image also must follow the Visa® Issuing Guidelines as set by Visa® International. 

What images are not acceptable?

Please see our image guidelines above for our criteria for acceptable photo submissions. 7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International reserve the right to reject any image we believe violates our mage guidelines. If an image is rejected, you will be notified by email within two business days. You may submit a new image anytime following your rejection notification.

How much does it cost?

No fee will be charged if you are getting your first Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card or renewing an expiring Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card (see Special Notice below). Also, no fee is charged if you use an image from our library or your own approved personal image (see image guidelines above).

Special Notice about renewing an expiring Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card

Before your current Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card is about to expire, you have the option to tell us you want a new image for your next card; you may choose to upload another image or select a stock image from our website. To request a new image and receive your new Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card for free, you agree to inform us three months prior, but not less than two months, to your current card’s expiration date. If you do not upload a new image before the two months prior to your card’s expiration date, you will be reissued a personalized debit card with the same image as your current card. If you want a standard design for your reissued card, please contact us two months prior to the expiration date. If you request a new Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card any time prior to three months before your card’s expiration date, you agree to be charged a replacement fee (see current Service Charge Schedule).

If 7 17 Credit Union voluntarily reissues you a new Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card due to a service issue (such as suspected fraud on your account), you will not be charged a fee for the new card.

What happens when my card expires?

Before your current Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card is about to expire, you have the option to tell us you want a new image for your next card; you may choose to upload another image or select a stock image from our website. How will I receive my personalized card?

Your card will be mailed to you via the U.S. Postal Service.

How long will it take to receive my card?

After your image has been submitted and approved by 7 17 Credit Union and Visa® International, you can expect to receive your card within 7-10 business days.

What if my card is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen, please call us immediately to replace your card. Your new issued card will have the same image as your previous card. To report a lost or stolen debit card, please call any of our main phone numbers during normal business hours, or after hours, call 800-472-3272.

Will my existing card work until my new Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card arrives?

Yes, your existing card will continue to work until you activate your new Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card. Please destroy your old card once the new card is activated.

Will any financial or personal information be transferred to the design service?

No, we do not transfer or share any of your financial or personal information with the design service.

How many Mine by Design® cards can I have?

You are permitted one open debit card per member and one per joint owner.

No fee will be charged for a 7 17 Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card – this service will be free to all new and existing credit union members who are eligible for a debit card. No fee is charged if you are getting your first Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card or renewing an expiring Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card. Also, no fee is charged if you use an image from our library or your own personal image.

Will I receive a new expiration date when I get a new Mine By Design® Card?

Yes, your new personalized debit card will have a new expiration date. You will need to notify any company that does electronic transfers from your account using your debit card number.

How will I know if my image is accepted or rejected?

You will receive an email within two business days, telling you if your image was rejected or approved.

How do I design my card?

Card customization is easy; there are simple instructions to follow:

Review the information in the Create Your Card section below.

  1. Select an image from our gallery or upload an image from your computer, external drive, disk, etc.
  2. Click the "browse" button on the design tool to locate the image on your computer.
  3. When you locate your image, select it then click on the "Upload" button on the design tool.
  4. The image will populate into the template.
  5. Customize the look of your card by enlarging, cropping or rotating.
  6. Once you are satisfied with the look of your card, hit the "next" button.
  7. Complete the "Details" page with the required information, then click "Submit" where you will see a "Thank You" page with additional information.

What format does the digital photo need to be in?

The photo needs to be a digital photo in .jpeg, GIF, PNG, TIFF or BMP format. The image needs to be at least 840 x 840 pixels and at least 50KB (kilobytes) in size, not to exceed 10MB (megabytes). Refer to the image guidelines for additional information.

How do I convert my photo into a digital photo?

You will need to convert your physical photo into a digital photo. If you take a regular photo to a photo processing facility, they may be able to scan the photo for you and put it on a disk. Remember, the image needs to be saved in either .jpeg or .bmp formats.

What size does my digital photo need to be?

Please use an image that is at least 840 x 840 pixels. Our design service provides a tool to re-size your picture to look the way you want it to.

What can I do to make sure my Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card turns out as good as possible?

Choose a clear, sharply focused image, preferably taken at a high resolution. You can also use photo editing software to enhance your photo prior to uploading it; however, it is not mandatory.

You must be a 7 17 member with a checking account to get the free Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card.

No fee will be charged if you are getting your first Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card or renewing an expiring Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card (see Special Notice below). Also, no fee is charged if you use an image from our library or your own approved personal image (see image guidelines accordion).

YOU AGREE TO DESTROY YOUR OLD CARD ONCE YOU RECEIVE YOUR NEW CARD AND HOLD 7 17 CREDIT UNION HARMLESS FOR ANY LOSS AS A RESULT OF NOT DOING SO.

Upon submitting your image to 7 17 Credit Union, you represent and certify that you have sole rights to use the image and have obtained any necessary consent to allow 7 17 Credit Union to alter, copy, print, distribute, prepare and to use the image or derivative works of the image on the customized debit card. All images submitted must have the consent of the owner including those images downloaded from the internet. All images submitted must follow our image guidelines (see our image guidelines accordion).

7 17 Credit Union is not responsible for poor-quality images or images poorly positioned on the personalized card template. Images and copies thereof shall not be returned to you for any reason.

Your Mine by Design® Personalized Debit Card remains the property of 7 17Credit Union and you agree to immediately return or destroy the card if asked by 7 17 Credit Union for any reason, or if the account to which your personalized card is linked is closed.

YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD 7 17 CREDIT UNION, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, PARTNERS AND EMPLOYEES, HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIM OR DEMAND, INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEYS' FEES, THAT ARISE FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

If you submit or repeatedly submit images that do not follow the set forth image guidelines (see our image guidelines accordion), 7 17 Credit Union reserves the right to exclude you from future use of this service.
